It takes Mushra a while to piece together what a human really is. Yakumo says it quietly, with a grave air.
He thinks of demons and monsters that he’s heard about, that humans who created them are just as capable of destroying them.
But Yakumo is a pushover. On their first day of traveling her hands bleed from gathering wood. Mushra thinks then and there that it’s unthinkable that she’s capable of destruction — she’s gotta learn to live first.
Later he’ll change him mind, when she’s crossing the bridge alone and Rusephine tries to make good on her promise to kill her.
Yakumo’s reconstructed his whole world and his perception of it. His strength was meant for protecting others.
She is in fact incredibly dangerous, but unlike him, she won’t ever return to a sliver of a card that he can neatly tuck away for safekeeping.
