Hello! This is my fic archive, aka dumping grounds, for [personal profile] lavendre . I've got fic scattered across the interwebs. Currently, this journal is the most up-to-date archive I have. Things these days get posted here before they go anywhere else and my fandom tags are the best way to navigate. Some writing is access only, subject to what I feel like sharing. Some ficlets are not great quality and some things are incomplete projects -- posted because I found them appealing/amusing and/or to serve as a reminder to someday come back and finish them. Official disclaimer: don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed. I mostly write for me these days.

If you recognize something here from another archive, assume that is the final version (AO3, FFN, etc). Writing from 2013 and earlier can be found at FFN (a lot of it has not been cross posted here -- why you would you torture yourself with this anyway).

Feel free to un/subscribe as you please~

Title: the thrusting limbs of deer or beasts
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Rating: gen
Word Count: 1571

Notes: Written for the MyDearTerence collection. I chose and combined two prompts, "i found a nice place i want to take you' and 'here's a silly object i was given for something virtuous i did.' Much longer than usual. Blaming my Kay Boyle reading.

Vouivre's common French translation is as 'wyvern,' but I liked that... "The word “vouivre” is derived from the Latin vipera, or “viper”. Vouivres themselves are the spiritual descendants of Mélusine, stripped of her human features. They have been described as dragons, serpents, and fairies in the form of great reptiles; they are always the guardians of priceless treasures..." and "...among other places, “vouivre” has become a byword for an unpleasant, nasty woman." Somethingsomething patriarchy, imperialism, decay, self-possession -- and I hit things with hammers.

An ambivalent departure; you, to your father, and me, exile. Well. )

Title: a mockery of his good nature
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Rating: gen
Word Count: 1958

Notes: LOGOS revealed a hilarious tidbit (spoilers) that it's not until Dion defends Terence's honor at a martial competition by punching a guy out does Terence realize Dion's desire for him is serious and agree to his pursuit. This fic is the follow up romcom, lmao.

Oriflamme itself holds a hostility in his heart now, that it might forever reproach him regardless of promise. )
selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: pending the devil or time
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Rating: gen
Word Count: 1037

Notes: For the MyDearTerence collection. Written for a prompt on drunkenness (nothing makes sense without youuu) and Terence expressing disenchantment with the empire. I wanted to get at the heart of what Terence embodies as a guy always fated to be below/less than but his agency being heard through service, and the ways in which Dion might chafe as a guy utterly tied to his identity as a weapon. Maybe I got it?

I only mean to say I want your company more than Greagor's. )
selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: Ever Faithful
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Terence, D/T
Rating: T
Word Count: 531

Notes: A generator assigned responses randomly for participants in the My Dear Terence collection wherein we're writing epistolary. This response is to Mairyn's, here.

1) The pasties Terence are referencing are considered indulgent/easily accessible/medieval fast food. There's a joke here about carnal indulgence and appetite.
2) The "god sends the meat, the devil sends the cooks" is an old saying that refers to vendors food poisoning their customers with bad meat. Double entendre, etc etc. Lore here, for the curious: https://www.engr.psu.edu/mtah/articles/fast_food.htm

Title: joy has touched him some
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion Lesage, D/T
Rating: M, for a dick
Word Count: 1503

Notes: For the gamma themeset on [community profile] 1character , fifty sentences for Dion Lesage. #23 is inspired by this art.

It is the end of vigilance and sense. )
selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: Favorable Circumstances
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Rating: T
Word Count: 736

Notes: Written as part of a casual/fun community group challenge celebrating/feeling inspired by LOGOS's upcoming release next year. The collection is here! Prompts have been brainstormed by participants. There will be more letters added to the collection over time!

This letter was written in response to a prompt about a ho phase (pre-868 Terence go!). Suggestions of underage but nothing explicit. Talking around venereal disease, military shenanigans, and Dion and Terence's private relationship.

'I know what I am privy to that you are not.' )
selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: a star at their feet
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion & Sylvestre, background D/T
Rating: gen, canon typical violence
Word Count: 3083

Notes: Canon-divergence. Sylvestre doesn't die in Twinside, and Dion asks after unhappy answers.

selenias: (FFXVI - Cid)
Title: Old Emotions
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Byron & Dion
Rating: gen
Word Count: 554

Notes: Written last year for [community profile] no_true_pair 's 2024 autumn challenge, for September 25th, 1 & 4 with the title "old emotions."

The eldest son of the Lesage line is generous. )
selenias: (Claymore)
Title: avarice
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion Lesage
Fanmix. Listen here!

Notes: Slow burn violence and eruption. An event horizon! Dion vs Anabella vs Sylvestre and their chafing.

selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: the wings won't break
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Fanmix. Listen here!

Notes: Worked and reworked and reworked this one again. A love story vs the increasing and looming cloud of doomed imperialism...! Sigh.

selenias: (Claymore)
Title: that trembled and reel’d beneath me
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Rating: explicit
Word Count: 11,780

Notes: This fic includes sex pollen, fuck or die, dubious consent, repression, and sexual dysfunction (blah blah blah). Set pre-game and a month pre-confession. Dion wants that which he should not have, but Terence doesn't make it easy to turn away. Title from a Walt Whitman poem. "...A thick gloom fell through the sunshine and darken'd me; Must I change my triumphant songs? said I to my- self; Must I indeed learn to chant the cold dirges of the baf- fled? And sullen hymns of defeat?"

The embankment is slick under Terence’s boots and he steps sideways through plaited fields to watch the sky lighten. )
selenias: (Claymore)
Title: stale air blows through
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Character/pairing: Benedikta
Fanmix! Listen here.

Notes: Tunes for the woman who got it all wrong.

A collection of FFXVI ficlets below for [community profile] threesentenceficathon. There will definitely be more, these are so pleasant to write.

Characters/pairing: Anabella, Dion/Terence, Jill/Clive/Cid, Clive/Joshua, and Dion & Olivier.
Rating(s) and warning(s): gen, canon-typical violence, and incest.

Joshua does not know if he wants Clive, or if he wants to be him. )
selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: We Covet all the Waning Hours
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Dion/Terence
Rating: gen
Word Count: 1365

Notes: For the 25daysofteredio on Bluesky, a little advent calendar prompt count down. Peace was inspired by this Walt Whitman poem, and Love pulls from a quote in Ursula K. Le Guin's The Lathe of Heaven. Title comes from Neko Case's Tightly.

selenias: (Lunafreya)
Title: her held eye did turn
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Pre-Jill/Clive, Cid
Rating: gen
Word Count: 1000

Notes: A rewrite of an earlier summer work. I like this much more now. Old version left for funsies. Jill tries to understand that desire which is hard to name.

Cid, their modest hero in all but name, only fiddles with his smokes. )
selenias: (Ashe)
Title: force passing through
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Jill & Cid
Rating: gen
Word Count: 951
Notes: In the church above Moore, Jill tries to understand something still out of reach.

selenias: (FF16 - Staaare)
Title: to meet my destiny
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Terence
Fanmix! Listen here.

Notes: Some tunes for a loyal servant turned knight and love.

selenias: (FFXVI - Cid)
Title: Spirits Whose Work Is Done
Fandom: Final Fantasy XVI
Characters/pairing: Byron/Havel, Quinten
Rating: M
Word Count: 2349
Notes: This was almost a polycule! Re: Triunity Accord was just a marriage pact in disguise. Title is a Walt Whitman poem.

How lucky it is that Clive should bring him the greatest company among men, even if it means Byron must always be the extra actor. )
